CLIENT
De Zetel, a Belgian manufacturer, has been producing solid wood tables and chairs since 1923.

 

GOAL
•  Design a solid wood table;
simple but original, integrating with subtlety in the interior
• Sustainable, in its materials and by its timeless design,
• Light, making the best use of the mechanical performance of wood

 

RESULT
• Lightness and solidity of the table:

the 4 U-shaped legs are relatively thin. Once assembled perpendicularly, the feet form an extremely solid and stable structure while keeping the visual lightness of each element
• Quick assembly with a screwdriver
• Low transport volume

The table 4U won the Vitra and Sofam design prizes at Dynamo Belgian Young Design Awards 2010 and the 1st prize «Bois & Habitat 2010 competition» in the professional designers category
